KSW Ends 2019 With A Bang

Europe’s largest MMA promotion, KSW, ended 2019 in spectacular fashion last weekend with KSW 52 at the Arena Gliwice in Gliwice, Poland.

For the second year running the promotion ended the calendar year at this venue and both events saw around 15,000 fans in attendance cheer on their favourite KSW fighters and celebrate the end of the year with the promotion.

From a media standpoint, the event saw a number of high profile pieces from renowned worldwide websites like MMAFighting.com, MMAJunkie.com, Bloody Elbow, Sherdog and many others, and ESPN’s Ariel Helwani spoke with KSW CEO Martin Lewandowski ahead of KSW 52. Media from the Czech Republic, France, UK & America all attended the event as well as all mainstream media in Poland.

Famous French outlet L’Equipe also travelled the event to follow young undefeated sensation Salahdine Parnasse around his successful title defense, he is one of the world’s most promising talents in the sport, and to speak with Martin Lewandowski about KSW, it’s growth, and Salahdine Parnasse.

Huge international star Martyn Ford, over 2.2 million Instagram followers, was also in attendance and met with the promotion to discuss a potential partnership in 2020.

The fights themselves provided an incredibly evening of action with seven finishes and two very entertaining fights going to a decision. Featuring in the main event was Mamed Khalidov, one of KSW’s biggest stars, versus Scott Askham - the middleweight champ from the UK. Askham won the decision and his stock in KSW and globally has risen with this victory.

Polish media star & former pro boxer Karolina Owczarz improved to 3-0 as a professional MMA fighter and received one of the biggest ovations on the night proving her star power and Olympic gold & silver medalist in weightlifting Szymon Kolecki won the ‘Battle of the Olympians’ as he finished bronze medalist in wrestling Damian Janikowski in their high profile fight.

A spectacular way to end the year for KSW and sets them up nicely for 2020.
